Roads & Bridges
As the largest state geographically in Malaysia, Sarawak has a population density of 22 /km2, with many rural settlements remain inaccessible by roads. The Sarawak State Government has set the target of 100 per cent connectivity, which involves building about 6,000 km of new roads and upgrading of about 4,200 of existing sub-standard roads, leading to a number of existing and upcoming mega road projects, namely the Pan Borneo Highway, Coastal Road Network, Second Trunk Road, Sarawak-Sabah Link Road and Trans Borneo Highway. PPM has been involved in the Pan Borneo Highway Project (Package 10) and the 2.43 km Muara Lassa Bridge from the start, and is looking forward to getting involved in more infrastructure projects in Sarawak and beyond.
PAN BORNEO HIGHWAY PROJECT (PACKAGE 10)

Pekerjaan Piasau Konkerit Sdn Bhd (PPK) was commissioned by the delivery partner Lebuhraya Utara Sdn Bhd (LBU) (* Assigned to JKR Sarawak from 2020) to undertake Package 10 of the Pan Borneo Highway Project in July 2016. The works consisted the construction and completion of widening and upgrading of the existing 77km long 2-lane single carriageway road from Jalan Bakun Junction to Sg Tangap to a 4-lane dual carriageway to JKR R5 standard, and included four interchanges, five bridges and 198 box and pipe culverts.
Upon being commissioned as the Work Package Contractor, PPK broadened PPM’s role to include micro-planning works strategy, progress monitoring, reporting, claims preparation, claims evaluation, risk management and contract management.

Pekerjaan Piasau Konkerit Sdn Bhd (PPK) was commissioned by JKR Sarawak to construct the Muara Lassa Bridge at Daro, Mukah, which is a balanced cantilever box girder bridge spanning a total length of 2.43 km. The bridge is located about 3.2 km upstream from the existing ferry point which connects Daro and Matu to Tanjung Manis in Mukah Division, via Pulau Bruit.
PPK commissioned PPM to assist with project controls, scheduling, reporting claims preparation and contract management upon the commencement of the project.
Sarawak-Sabah Link Road Phase 2, Packages 1A, 1B and 2A

Maltimur Aktif Unggul JV Sdn. Bhd. (MAUJV) is the master contractor (Design & Build) of the Sarawak-Sabah Link Road (SSLR) Phase 2 project. With a budget of RM 7.4 billion, this 322 km long strategic highway will connect Lawas to Limbang and subsequently to Mulu town without passing through Brunei and is estimated to take five years to complete.
PPM was engaged by the Work Package Contractors of Packages 1A, 1B and 2A to provide support on contract administration and preparation and defense of claims.
