Construction management is the overall planning, coordination and control of the construction process from start to finish. For large projects, construction management is typically separated from project management. Whilst project managers focus on managing project works, construction managers focus on managing construction works. Construction managers perform many tasks, including organising and managing budgets, setting and adhering to schedules, managing and overseeing site activities, ensuring site security and safety, managing changes, preparing site-level correspondences, carrying out inspections, etc.. Their role is to ensure that construction works are completed on time, within budget and to client's specifications.
