Project Management

Project management is overall planning, directing and organising each stage of the project cycle, from ideation to completion to ensure that the project is completed on time and within budget.

The project manager is responsible for adhering to a strict timeline, staying within budget, allocating resources, avoiding scope creep, ensuring quality, managing stakeholders, and so on. They evaluate risks in real time and keep stakeholders updated.

By centralising information and streamlining communication, the project manager enables efficient processes that otherwise would not have been possible, and helps prevent costly mistakes that often plague construction projects.  A study in 2015 found that 98% of megaprojects incur cost overruns or delays.
"Construction is highly fragmented. Contracts have mismatches in risk allocations and rewards, and often inexperienced owners and buyers find it hard to navigate an opaque marketplace. The result is poor project management and execution, insufficient skills, inadequate design processes, and underinvestment in skills development, R&D, and innovation."

PPM has supported project owners, contractors and design consultants on project management in different ways, e.g. providing total project management solution by acting as full-service PMC, assisting with the management of the trickier part of the projects and/or providing specialist services such as Building Information Modelling (BIM) to meet the technical gaps in clients' organisations.
Our team has the proven track record in delivering challenging projects in different sectors, and our services can be tailored to suit the needs and resources of the individual clients to produce the most optimum results.  Our staff can provide services from our offices in Kuching and Kuala Lumpur, or work as part of the client's project team on site or at the client's office.

The following is a list of what we typically do:
  • Preliminary Planning - Preparation of master plan which includes the conceptualisation of the project and the budget allocated.  Example
  • Procurement Management - Preparing tender documentation and managing the evaluation, selection and appointment of designers, contractors, subcontractors and other suppliers.  Example
  • Project Management - Overall planning, directing and organising each part of the project cycle, from ideation to completion to ensure that the project is delivered on time and under budget.  Example
