Power Generation - Hydropower
With more than 2600mm of average rainfall a year and a mean elevation of about 300mm, Malaysia has abundant hydropower resources, and the majority of such resources are located in the state of Sarawak on the Borneo Island. Under the Sarawak Corridor of Renewable Energy (SCORE), Sarawak has successfully commissioned the 2,400 MW Bakun Hydroelectric Project and 944 MW Murum Hydroelectric Power Station. The 1,285 MW Baleh Hydroelectric Project is targeted for completion in 2027. Building upon its experience on the Kota 2 Mini Hydro Project, PPM supported the contractor for main civil works for the Baleh Hydroelectric Project during the critical design and construction phases. PPM has the hands-on experience of overcoming technical challenges in the design and construction of hydropower projects as well as the logistical challenges of delivering infrastructure projects in remote and inaccessible rural locations.
