PROJECT CONTROL SERVICES FOR MAJOR TRANSMISSION LINE PROJECTS IN SARAWAK

PPM was the Project Controller of a Transmission Line Project in Sarawak.  Our role included:

  • Setting up baseline with cost and resource loading and Earned Value Management Monitoring Regime, and updating programmes on a regular basis
  • Leading the compilation of internal and external reporting
  • Creating and maintaining internal budget which aligns with the requirements of the Headquarters, reviewing subcontract claims, submitting claims and variations to the client, working with the project team on final accounts 
  • Keeping track of all costs and maintaining cost-related documentation
  • Maintaining a risk register and obtaining updates from risk owners and conducting risk workshops
  • Supporting the Project Director by identifying the procedural parts of the main and sub-contracts and maintaining a register of all contract-related matters

INFRASTRUCTURE MANAGEMENT SERVICES FOR THE MYTOWN PROJECT IN KUALA LUMPUR

PPM was the Infrastructure Manager of the MYTown Development by Boutstead-Ikano Sdn Bhd.  Our role included:

  • Managing external and internal project stakeholders associated with the infrastructure works for each development. 
  • Assisting in the appointment of project consultants and contractors, including the drafting of the scopes and other tender documents where required.
  • Leading the project consultants on resolving infrastructure rela​ted issues throughout the course of the development. This includes all infrastructure studies, design from concept to detailed design, procurement of the works and during the construction and handover stages. 
  • Managing and coordinating the works so that the works are designed to cater to the needs of the client and the wider the masterplan (i.e. current and anticipated growth in traffic) and ensuring that these works meet the budget and programme required for the entire development

PROJECT MANAGEMENT FOR BALINGIAN COAL STOCKYARD AND INFRASTRUCTURE PROJECT

Balingian Energy Minerals Sdn Bhd (BEM) and Sarawak Energy Berhad (SEB) commissioned PPM to manage their Balingian Coal Stockyard and Associated Infrastructure Works project. This involved the design and construction of a coal haul road, coal handling system with a stacker and reclaimer and associated facilities. It was earmarked as a fast track project by SEB.

PPM provided management and engineering support, which involved:
  • ​contract management & administration and project controls;
  • liaison with local authorities;
  • joint development of the project execution plan;
  • management for the engineering design and construction;
  • interfacing with components of the Balingian Coal-fired Power Plant Project;
  • review and monitoring of contractor's design and construction works; and
  • ensuring the final delivery of work.

INFRASTRUCTURE MANAGEMENT FOR IKEA RETAIL ASIA

Ikea Retail Asia engaged PPM to manage the infrastructure for their first IKEA store and Shopping Centre project in southern Malaysia, Johor.

This involved the upgrading of neighbouring roads and highways. Our services included the design and site coordination of the interfaces between infrastructure and building services.

PAN BORNEO HIGHWAY PROJECT (PACKAGE 10) ON TENDER AND PROJECT EXECUTION

PPM worked with Pekerjaan Piasau Konkerit Sdn Bhd (PPK) on bidding for Package 10 of the Pan Borneo Highway Project, providing them with contract and scheduling consultation and services.

​Upon being commissioned as the Work Package Contractor, PPK broadened PPM's role to include micro-planning works strategy, progress monitoring as well as reporting. PPM was also tasked by PPK to cover aspects of risk management and contract management.

PROJECT CONTROLS AND DESIGN MANAGEMENT SERVICES FOR CONTRACTOR ON KOTA 2 MINI HYDRO PROJECT 

PPM provided project controls and design management services to the main contractor of the Kota 2 Mini Hydro Project near the town of Lawas in Northern Sarawak. The project is  a small, run-of-river hydropower project which will be connected to the Lawas grid. The new Kota 2 power station is located immediately upstream of the Kota 1 weir site. The project also involved the extension, upgrading and construction of access road.

PROJECT MANAGEMENT FOR BOUSTEAD BUILDING MATERIALS' BUKIT JALIL INFRASTRUCTURE PROJECT

Boustead Building Materials Sdn Bhd was the main contractor for the Bukit Jalil Infrastructure Project in Kuala Lumpur, which involved the construction of a flyover and tunnel, relocation of existing transmission line towers and delivery of services for LTAT (Armed Forces Fund Board) development.

​Boustead Building Materials commissioned PPM to support them on this project, building on our existing relationship with the Boustead Group as the infrastructure manager for Boustead-Ikano's MyTown Project at Cochrane, Kuala Lumpur. Our role included project management and design coordination between consultants.

PROJECT MANAGEMENT FOR KL MIDTOWN SUBSTRUCTURE STAGE 1

KL Midtown Project is part of the KL Metropolis commercial master plan which spanning 75.7 acre land  strategically located by the prestigious township of Damansara Heights, Sri Hartamas, Mont Kiara & Bangsar.

Infra Segi Sdn Bhd appointed PPM as the project management consultant to support them in this project. With our specialist team, our scope of work for this project covered planning work, progress monitoring, reporting, risk management and contract management. We also ensure the alignment of the project goals are delivered successfully to meet the client requirement.
