Project Manager, M or E

We are looking for a dynamic and experienced project manager with at least 5 years of relevant work experience to join our growing team.  The successful candidate will preferably be someone with a mechanical/ electrical/ electronic engineering background, though we will also consider applicants from other disciplines if they have the relevant skills and experience.

Key Roles:

• Acting as the key interface point between client, designer and contractors
• Obtaining, verifying and consolidating project information, including progress, cost and quality matters
• Leading the team on site and management matters, such as discussions on technical matters, planning and scheduling, contract terms and conditions, site meetings, project risk management, procurement, contract administration and contractor negotiations

Requirements

• Willing to travel frequently and extensively and work outside of office hours when required
• Able to take responsibility for own works and work independently with minimal supervision
• Able to think of the big picture and pay attention to details at the same time
• Able to think outside of the box to come up with innovative solutions to problems
• Confident in communicating with and presenting to different audiences, including clients

• Proactive in communicating with clients, stakeholders and teammates and in obtaining project information and data from the relevant parties 
• Able to work well with other team members, e.g. working with the planning team in the preparation of cash flows, tender schedules, etc
• Have a good understanding of the commercial nature of the construction industry
• Have the experience of working with standard forms of contracts, including JKR, PAM and FIDIC
• Able to prepare writter materials, e.g. letters, reports, presentations, tender bids, independently
• Able to check and critique submissions from others, e.g. third-party cost-related information

Skills and qualifications:

• A degree in electrical engineering, though graduates from other disciplines will also be considered if they have the relevant experience
• Fluency in English is compulsory; fluency in Mandarin Chinese and Malay preferred
• High competency in Microsoft Office products, in particular Microsoft Excel and Powerpoint

Experience:

• Min 5 years in the construction industry, preferably in project management
